Exciting News: Gunjō no Asteroid Opens April 11
Bandai Namco Filmworks announced the release date for the highly anticipated film, Gunjō no Asteroid (Ultramarine Asteroid), set to hit theaters on April 11.
Trailer and Visual Unveiling
On Friday, the studio unveiled a trailer and a captivating visual for the upcoming film, which is the third installment in the Yamato yo Towa ni: Rebel 3199 series (Be Forever Yamato: Rebel 3199). This film continues the beloved legacy of the Space Battleship Yamato remakes.

The special limited edition Blu-ray Disc is also set for release on the same day as the film, with a general retail Blu-ray and DVD release following on June 25.
Musical Contribution
The ending theme song "Eureka" for the film will be performed by the artist TRUE.
Additionally, Gunjō no Asteroid is part of a series that will debut as seven films. Fans can catch the series streaming on Crunchyroll under the title Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato 3199.
A Look at Previous Installments
- Kuro no Shinryaku (Dark Invasion) was the first film, premiering on July 19, 2023, and earned approximately 58 million yen in its opening weekend.
- The second film, Sekijitsu no Shutsugeki (The Assault of the Burning Sun), debuted on November 22, 2023, and grossed about 64 million yen in its first three days.
- Participating theaters offered a special limited edition Blu-ray during screenings.
Megumi Han took over the role of Sasha in the second film, a role originally voiced by her mother, Keiko Han.

The new anime is directed by Naomichi Yamato, known for his work on previous renowned animes, with Harutoshi Fukui credited as both supervising director and head writer.
