About the Story
Kodansha USA Publishing is releasing the manga in English and describes the story as follows:
Following a wave of immigration, Japan has become a volatile mix of people and cultures, rocked by protests from xenophobic extremists unhappy with the new status quo.
Riko, a brash, job-hopping young woman, is driving her scooter through one such protest when she nearly runs over a boy named Eito. She manages to shove him out of the way just in time, but soon finds herself caring for him.
As they bond over ramen, Eito is suddenly targeted by a distant army sniper. When a bullet whizzes toward him, tendrils from his arm stop it mid-air. Who is this boy, and why is the army after him?
