A new manga adaptation and a live-action film are on the horizon for a popular novel by Akinari Asakura.
Exciting News for Fans
This year's 13th issue of Futabasha's Manga Action magazine revealed that Akinari Asakura's novel, Ore de wa Nai Enjō (It's Not Me in Flames), will receive a manga adaptation. The manga will be illustrated by Ōtori556 (also known as Kokoro) and will be published in the magazine's 15th issue on July 15.

About the Novel
Ore de wa Nai Enjō centers on Taisuke Yamagata, a sales manager falsely accused of murdering a female college student. When his identity is exposed online, he becomes Japan's most wanted, and the public turns against him. Determined to clear his name, Taisuke goes on a journey to uncover the shocking truth.
Published in 2022 by Futabasha, the novel has inspired not only a manga but also a live-action film set to premiere in Japan on September 26.

- The novel inspired a manga titled Rokunin no Usotsuki na Daigakusei: Plus One by Keiga Ōsawa, which was launched in Kadokawa's Young Ace magazine in June 2022 and concluded in November.

About the Creator
Akinari Asakura is notable for writing the Show-ha Shoten! manga, which involves collaboration with famed artist Takeshi Obata — known for Death Note and Platinum End. Their manga, published by Shueisha, started in October 2021 and is ending with its 11th volume on September 4. The manga is available in English via Viz Media and MANGA Plus.
