New Release Date Set After Delays

The official website for Alterna Vvelt -Blue Exorcist Another Story- (Blue Exorcist Another Story), a new game in the Blue Exorcist franchise, announced on Wednesday that the game will officially launch for iOS and Android devices on June 25. This follows a previous delay. Check out the game's trailer below:

Background on Development

Originally set for release last summer, the game was postponed to 2025 to ensure better quality. According to the development team, they aimed to launch "by the first half of 2025" and have been working on:

Completing character designs and voice recordings
Creating cityscapes for the game's world
Solidifying the story scenario

However, the team noted it would take more time to balance gameplay, improve the user interface, and fix bugs.

Pre-registration is currently open and the game will also be available in English, as previously confirmed.

Genre: 3D Action RPG
Story Overview:
The player takes on the role of an ordinary exorcist at the Japanese branch of the Knights of the True Cross. Joining the newly formed Special Investigations Unit, they meet their partner Adori Kureha and a cast of unique SIU members, unravelling mysteries like the Hyakusai Pagoda Fire and fighting demons threatening the city.

Development Timeline and Other Projects

In 2018, developer ESPIRIT announced a Blue Exorcist smartphone game, Ao no Exorcist: Damned Chord, which was then canceled in 2020 in favor of a new MMORPG project.

Connection to the Ongoing Franchise

The Blue Exorcist franchise has also launched new anime this year:

Blue Exorcist: Beyond the Snow Saga started airing in October 2024.
Blue Exorcist: The Blue Night Saga premiered on January 4.
Both series will run for two cours (approximately half a year) and are being streamed by Crunchyroll.

Manga Continues Strong

The original manga by Kazue Katō debuted in Jump SQ. in 2009.
The manga took a hiatus in July 2021 and returned in May 2022.
