Future Venue Considerations
The Society for the Promotion of Japanese Animation (SPJA), organizer of Anime Expo, is currently evaluating the Los Angeles Convention Center as a potential long-term venue. This comes amid uncertainties regarding the venue's planned expansion.
In April, the L.A. city council voted to move forward with the expansion, with a final decision expected this summer. If approved, construction could begin as early as September, pause during the 2028 Olympic Games, and resume afterward, aiming for completion by March 2029.
