Exciting News: New Yasuomi Umetsu Anime 'Virgin Punk' Gets Theatrical Release!
Aniplex of America announced during its panel at Anime Expo that it will be releasing the first story of the original anime series 'Virgin Punk', directed by the renowned Yasuomi Umetsu and produced by studio SHAFT. Although the release date hasn't been revealed yet, they shared an English-subtitled trailer to give fans a sneak peek.

What is 'Virgin Punk' About?
Set in the year 2099, the series explores a world where medical android technology called Somadea has revolutionized healthcare, curing injuries and illnesses. However, this advancement has also led to a surge in crimes involving illegal use and modification of Somadea.
- Bounty Hunter System: To combat these crimes, the government established a system allowing civilians to hunt down wanted criminals using illegal Somadea. These bounty hunters can kill or capture targets in exchange for large rewards.
- Main Character: Ubu Kamigori, a bounty hunter, makes her living tracking down criminals. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she encounters Mr. Elegance, a figure from her troubled past.
The story promises a mix of mechanical girls, gunpowder, and suspenseful action.
