Betrothed to My Sister's Ex Anime Premieres July 4
New Visual and Theme Songs Unveiled
The official website for the upcoming anime Betrothed to My Sister's Ex has released a second promotional video, revealing the series' premiere date and exciting new updates. The television adaptation of Tobirano's novel Zutaboro Reijō wa Ane no Moto Konyakusha ni Dekiai Sareru is set to debut on July 4. Along with the premiere news, the staff also announced additional cast members, a new visual, and theme song details.

Manga and Novel Background
- Chikage Nakakura launched a manga adaptation on Futabasha's Gaugau Monster in July 2020. The eighth volume was published December 25.
- The English version is available on Pocket Comics as a full-color vertical scroll. Updates have paused since November 2023, but the Japanese manga continues.
- Original web novel by Tobirano started in October 2019 on Shōsetsuka ni Narō. Futabasha began publishing light novels with illustrations by Mai Murasaki in April 2020. The eighth volume was released January 10.
Upcoming English Releases
Seven Seas Entertainment announced in April it has licensed both the light novel and manga. English-language releases are set to begin in January 2026.
Story Overview
Marie has always lived in her older sister's shadow, growing up in a poor baron's house. When her sister is set to marry a wealthy Earl but dies unexpectedly, the family betroths Marie in her place. However, a misunderstanding with the proposal awaits her. Can Marie win the Earl's heart, or will she remain without anything nice in her life?
