On June 6, the Genre Code Tankentai (also known as Genre Code Lovers or Genre Code Expedition) released an unofficial count of fan circle booths for this year's Comic Market (Comiket), Japan's largest event for self-published works, especially dōjinshi. According to their figures drawn from the event's online catalog, about 22,760 circles will participate in Comiket 106 this August.
Attendance Trends
While this figure marks a 26% decrease from Comiket 105’s 28,763 booths last December, it's comparable to the 23,858 booths recorded at Comiket 104 in August 2024. Notably, summer Comiket events tend to have lower attendance than their winter counterparts.
