Background on the Series
The manga had been on hiatus since its 75th chapter in October 2023. It follows the journey of Hajime Aono, a talented violinist who, for personal reasons, stepped away from playing. However, his life takes a turn when he meets a girl who introduces him to a prestigious high school orchestra. This story beautifully explores the themes of youth, music, and emotional connection.
Indonesian publisher Elex Media is also releasing the series and describes it as:
This is the story of a youth drama that brings forth the harmony between music and the heart!
Achievements and Future Releases
Ao no Orchestra first launched in Shogakukan's Manga ONE app in 2017 and has since gained considerable acclaim. The series won the Best Shōnen Manga at the 68th Shogakukan Manga Awards in January 2023. Additionally, Shogakukan will publish the 12th compiled book volume on March 12.
The anime adaptation premiered on NHK Educational in April 2023 and aired a total of 24 episodes. Excitingly, the second season, consisting of 21 episodes, is set to premiere this fall.
