Bomtoon Takes Over Popular Webtoons from PeanuToon
Popular webtoons such as Sketch will continue serialization on Bomtoon, following the recent shutdown of PeanuToon.

Transition Announcement
On February 28, Bomtoon confirmed it would take over several hit webtoons from PeanuToon, which ceased operations due to financial difficulties. This move ensures that fans can continue enjoying their favorite stories without interruption.
PeanuToon, a platform operated by Japanese company Amutus since 2019, announced its closure in January, citing ongoing financial losses. The sudden shutdown left many webtoon series in limbo, prompting fans to rally for the preservation of their beloved works.
Industry Response
The Korea Cartoonist Association and the Korea Webtoon Artist Association issued a statement on February 4, condemning PeanuToon's abrupt closure. They highlighted the negative impact on both creators and readers, criticizing the decision as a violation of creators' rights and a threat to the digital content industry.
Key Titles Secured
In response to the outcry, Bomtoon secured key titles from PeanuToon's catalog. Among the confirmed series returning to serialization are:
- One Room Instructor
- Sketch
One Room Instructor, created by Jibung, has amassed 7 million cumulative views and was recognized as one of the Most Entertaining Books of 2024 by the Korean Publishing Culture Association. Meanwhile, Sketch won the 2022 PeanuToon Awards Grand Prize, boasting 8.7 million views.
Both creators announced the transition to Bomtoon on social media. Jibung shared an image stating, "One Room Instructor Coming Soon!" confirming its return in the spring. Dosak also posted a Bomtoon-branded image of Sketch, telling fans, "See you again on Bomtoon."
Additional Series Resuming
In addition to One Room Instructor and Sketch, the following webtoons are set to resume serialization on Bomtoon:

- Tiger, I Enjoyed the Meal
- Somnolence
- If This Isn't Fate, Then What Is?
- Irresistible You
- Starting With Cohabitation
A Bomtoon representative stated, "We understand the disappointment and loss that readers feel due to PeanuToon's sudden closure. That's why we decided to continue these webtoons to ensure that fans can enjoy them until the end."
Some of the transitioned webtoons began serialization on Bomtoon on February 28, with special events and promotions planned to welcome new readers and celebrate the relaunch of these series.
