Cooking Scenes Preview Before October Premiere of Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill
The latest livestream event for Overlap Bunko All-Star Gathering Special 2025 #2 revealed exciting new content for fans of the anime. During the event, a promotional video showcasing highlighted cooking scenes was unveiled, along with a fresh visual for the upcoming second season.
New Season Details
The second season is based on the light novel series written by Ren Eguchi and illustrated by Masa. It continues the story of Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill (Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hōrō Meshi), which originally debuted as a novel on the Shosetsuka ni Narō website in 2016. Overlap is publishing the novels in print, along with a manga adaptation by K Akagishi and a spin-off manga by Momo Futaba.
What to Expect
- Voice Cast: Most of the original cast returns, including Ayumu Murase as Dra-chan, the adorable pixie dragon who joins Mukōda’s party after being attracted by his cooking aroma.
- Staff Changes: While many staff members are back, notable additions include Tsuyoshi Kuwahara as a new character designer, joining Nao Ōtsu. Shiho Tanaka and Eriko Itō will serve as chief animation directors, replacing previous staff. Kenji Takahashi, known for Spy×Family and The Rose of Versailles, is now the episode director, with Tomoki Nagino taking over art direction.
- Production: The animation studio remains MAPPA, with BAX credited for cuisine supervision and Kodai Kato promoted to animation producer.

Background and Availability
The first season premiered exclusively in Japan via Amazon Prime Video and Hikari TV on January 10, 2023. Later, Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired.
Eguchi’s novels have gained popularity, leading to multiple adaptations and translations. J-Novel Club is currently releasing both the light novels and manga in English.
