Exciting News: New Monster Hunter Stories Game Coming in 2026

Capcom has announced a brand-new entry in the beloved Monster Hunter Stories franchise during the Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase. Fans can look forward to Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection, set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 in 2026.

A Brief History of Monster Hunter Stories

Originally launched for Nintendo 3DS in Japan in October 2016, and in the West in September 2017.
Capcom released a smartphone version in Japan in December 2017, followed by a Western release in September 2018.
A remastered version for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC via Steam was released in June 2024.
The sequel, Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin, launched worldwide for Switch and PC in July 2021.

The Monster Hunter Stories RIDE ON anime premiered in Japan in October 2016, with streaming available on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
The Monster Hunter Wilds game debuted on February 28, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, selling over 8 million copies in just three days and reaching 10 million by March.
