Exciting News: New 'Sgt. Frog' Anime Film Announced for 2026
Bandai Namco Pictures has just unveiled a teaser trailer for a brand-new anime project celebrating the 20th anniversary of the beloved Sgt. Frog franchise. The teaser confirms that the project will be a new anime film set to premiere in summer 2026.

Behind the Scenes
Yūichi Fukuda, known for his work on live-action adaptations like Gintama, Saint Young Men, and HK/Hentai Kamen, is supervising the film as director and scriptwriter. He is joined by Fumitoshi Oizaki, who will handle character design and directing at Bandai Namco Pictures, along with Satoshi Koike, also serving as character designer.
Music and Theme
The iconic theme song, "KERO! to MARCH," will be reimagined by musicians ano and Soshina under the new title "Mata Kaettekita KERO! to MARCH." This version will serve as the theme for the franchise’s 20th anniversary.
About Sgt. Frog
Keroro, the leader of a platoon of frog-like invaders, was sent to conquer Earth. However, after discovering how much humans enjoy dissecting their comrades, the invasion was abandoned, and Keroro now spends his days wielding a vacuum cleaner instead of weapons. Despite the slowed invasion, Keroro still dreams of reuniting his troops and overcoming his karaoke addiction.
The anime, based on Mine Yoshizaki’s manga, originally aired from 2004 to 2011 and spawned five feature films. It has been licensed and released in North America by companies like Funimation and Discotek, with all episodes now available on Blu-ray.
