Exciting News: 'There Was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party' Gets an Anime Adaptation
Futabasha announced on Friday that the popular light novel series Yūsha Party ni Kawaii Ko ga Itanode, Kokuhaku Shite Mita (translated as There Was a Cute Girl in the Hero's Party, So I Tried Confessing to Her) will be adapted into a television anime!
About the Series
This romantic comedy fantasy follows the story of Yōki, a man who reincarnates into a fantasy world. Unlike typical reincarnation stories, Yōki doesn't become a hero or a demon lord but instead finds himself as a demon lord's underling. During a battle at the demon lord's castle, he encounters the hero's party, including the priest Cecilia. Despite being on opposing sides, Yōki falls in love with Cecilia at first sight.
Main Cast and Staff
- Yōki is voiced by Kōhei Amasaki
- Cecilia is voiced by Kana Hanazawa
The series is directed by Yasutaka Yamamoto (known for Medalist and Servant × Service), at the studio Gekkō. Scriptwriting is overseen by Yukie Sugawara (who worked on Overlord and No Guns Life). Character designs are adapted by Mina Ōsawa from illustrator La-na.
Music is composed by Satoru Kōsaki (BEASTARS, The Apothecary Diaries) and produced by MONACA. The series is produced by Starry Cube with Ryō Aizawa serving as producer.
Origin and Publication
Suisei launched the series on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2013, with the latest update on June 12. The manga adaptation, illustrated by La-na, began serialization in print by Futabasha in October 2014, with the third volume released in August 2015.
