New Chihayafuru -Meguri- Live-Action Series Reveals Trailer and Main Visual
First Look: Trailer and Main Visual Unveiled
The official X/Twitter account for Chihayafuru -Meguri-, the latest live-action television adaptation of Yuki Suetsugu's celebrated manga, has released a new trailer. The series is set to premiere on July 9, 2025, at 10:00 p.m. (JST) on NTV and related channels. Alongside the trailer, the main visual for the show has also been revealed.
Asami Seto, the voice of Chihaya in the anime adaptations, narrates the newly released trailer.

- Ami Tōma plays Meguru Aizawa, a quiet second-year high schooler involved in a struggling karuta card club.
- Mone Kamishiraishi returns as Kanade Ōe, now a part-time teacher and the club's adviser.

- Kodansha USA Publishing releases the manga digitally in English.
Story Overview:
Chihaya, a sixth grader, discovers competitive karuta card playing through Arata, a talented transfer student. As Chihaya becomes captivated by Arata's skill, Arata is inspired by Chihaya's natural talent. Together, their journey through adolescence unfolds through the game of karuta.
- The manga ended in Be Love in August 2022 after 50 volumes.
- A spinoff side story was published in November 2022, with Volume 50.
- In December 2023, a sequel manga titled Chihayafuru plus Kimi ga Tame began serialization.
Anime and Streaming
- Three anime seasons were produced and are available on Crunchyroll and HIDIVE.
- Sentai Filmworks has released all three seasons on home video with English dubs.
