Exciting News: New Original Anime Film 'Grotesqqque' Announced for 2026
Anime studio CloverWorks has announced an upcoming original film titled Grotesqqque, set to premiere in 2026. The film, previously known as Grotesque, promises to be a captivating omnibus featuring three distinct stories, each exploring different worldviews.

Meet the Director
The film is directed by Atsushi Nishigori, known for his work on The IDOLM@STER and DARLING in the FRANXX. Nishigori brings his unique vision to this ambitious project.
The Three Stories
Grotesqqque will feature three separate stories:
- "Aeliens"
- "4649 Girl" (pronounced Yoroshiku★Shōjo). This title is a pun combining the phrase Nice to Meet You★Girl with a literal translation of the kanji, meaning Evening Dew Heads to Its Death★Girl. The numbers 4649 are read as Yoroshiku in Japanese.
- "Nocturne: Kono Grotesque na Yoru ni" (literally Nocturne: On This Grotesque Night), also romanized as Nocturn: En Cette Nuit Grotesque.
