Dark Horse Comics Announces Manga Adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s Work
Dark Horse Comics is set to release a new manga adaptation of H.P. Lovecraft’s novella, The Shadow Out of Time, illustrated by Gou Tanabe. The manga will be available in bookstores on October 28 and in comic book stores on October 29.
About the Manga
The story follows Professor Nathaniel Wingate Peaslee, a once-respectable political economy professor at Miskatonic University in Arkham. His life takes a strange turn in 1908 when he witnesses his classroom transform into an alien landscape, leading to a mysterious five-year disappearance. Upon returning in 1913, Peaslee has no memory of his time away, but his subsequent research uncovers a long-forgotten race that still casts its shadow across time.
"What awoke was not the Nathaniel Peaslee his colleagues knew—at least, not his mind. Now associating with strange people, and speaking oddly of time, distant lands, and concepts of existence, his travels and research disturbed those who knew him."
