Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding 2: On the Beach Coming to PS5 on June 26
The official YouTube channel for PlayStation has just released an exciting gameplay trailer titled "Explore. Connect. Survive." for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, created by Hideo Kojima.
Release Date and Special Editions
Death Stranding 2 is scheduled to launch on June 26, 2025, exclusively for PlayStation 5.
- Collector's Edition: Grants early access 48 hours before the official release, along with in-game items, a Magellan Man statue, a Dollman figurine, art cards, a letter from Hideo Kojima, and an exclusive collector's box.
- Digital Deluxe Edition: Includes the 48-hour early access and in-game items.
- Pre-orders: All editions come with four unique in-game items, different from those in the collector's and digital deluxe editions.

The original Death Stranding game was released for PlayStation 4 in November 2019, followed by a PC release via Steam in July 2020 after some delays caused by COVID-19. The Death Stranding: Director's Cut for PS5 debuted in September 2021 and was later made available for PC in March 2022.

Death Stranding has inspired a film adaptation by Hammerstone Studios, known for movies like Barbarian and Bill and Ted Face the Music.
Kojima's Future Projects
In a May interview with Vogue Japan, Kojima revealed that an animated Death Stranding project is in development. However, he did not specify if it will be Japanese animation or another style.
Additionally, Kojima Productions established a new division in Los Angeles in 2021, focusing on music, television, and film ventures.
