Sega released an exciting new trailer for Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – The Hinokami Chronicles 2 on Wednesday, giving fans a sneak peek at the upcoming sequel. The trailer highlights the Story Mode's Swordsmith Village Arc, continuing the fight against demons from where the first game left off.

Release Date & Platforms
The game will be released in Japan on August 1, and the English version will launch worldwide on August 5. Playable on:
- PlayStation 5 & 4
- Xbox Series X|S & Xbox One
- Nintendo Switch
- PC via Steam
Special Editions & Pre-Orders
- Japanese Edition: Includes a physical figure and digital content such as in-game costumes.
- Pre-Order Bonuses: Special cases featuring illustrations from ufotable.
- Digital Deluxe Edition: Features unlock keys for characters like Kyojuro Rengoku and Tengen Uzui, plus additional characters for unlock including Obanai Iguro, Sanemi Shinazugawa, and Gyomei Himejima.
- It also includes VS Mode voices and costumes.
Game Content & Features
The sequel's story will pick up right after the first game, covering key arcs:
- Entertainment District Arc
- Swordsmith Village Arc
- Hashira Training Arc
Over 40 characters will be playable in VS Mode, including fans' favorites like Muichirō Tokitō and Mitsuri Kanroji, who are also available as pre-order bonuses.
All characters from the original game will return, including those added through free post-launch updates and paid DLC content from the Entertainment District Arc. The nine Hashira will also be present as playable characters.

The game is being developed by Cyber Connect 2 and published by Aniplex.

- The first Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba game shipped in Japan and released in English in Asia in October 2021. It launched in North America and Europe shortly after.
- The original game has shipped over 4 million units worldwide.
- The first game featured multiple updates and DLC, including a Group Battles mode for up to eight players.
About the Franchise
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba follows Tanjiro Kamado, who transforms into a demon slayer to avenge his family and save his sister, Nezuko, from becoming a demon.
