Former Nippon Ichi Software president Sohei Niikawa has officially launched his new entertainment company, SuperNiche, alongside its website on Monday. The company aims to produce a wide array of media, including novels, manga, games, music, and videos.
Initial Projects
Currently, the website lists two key projects:
- Etrange Overlord Game: This project is based on Roman Kitayama's novel series of the same name.
- An untitled project, details of which remain under wraps.

About Sohei Niikawa
Niikawa resigned as president of Nippon Ichi Software in 2022, citing personal reasons. His career at Nippon Ichi Software began in 1996, where he worked in sales and promotion for five years before becoming president and CEO in 2009. Niikawa’s tenure included notable achievements such as the creation of the beloved Disgaea game series.
He also served as the president of NIS America and shared insights into his journey within the company in a 2012 interview with ANN.
