Emi Ishikawa Announces New Manga Adaptation
Emi Ishikawa, known for her previous work on the manga adaptation of Poppy's Playtime, has revealed plans for a new project. On Monday, she took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that she will be adapting the game Urban Myth Dissolution Center into a manga. This new series will be featured in Shueisha's Ribon magazine, set to debut in the May issue.

About the Game
The Urban Myth Dissolution Center game was launched on February 12 for PC via Steam. The game's synopsis provides an intriguing glimpse into its narrative:
"The Urban Myth Dissolution Center – your one-stop solution for dissolving and dealing with cursed relics, monstrous oddities, and dimensional anomalies! Take on cases revolving around urban myths as Azami Fukurai, the heroine, under the supervision of Ayumu Meguriya, Level S psychic and Center Director..."
Previous Works
Ishikawa previously launched a manga adaptation of Mob Entertainment's Poppy's Playtime, titled Poppy Playtime Forever Shinobi Yoru Ashioto, in July 2024.
Additionally, her original series Zekkyō Gakkyū follows a ghost girl named Yomi as she narrates various scary stories. This series began in 2008, and the final volume was published in March 2015. Following this, Ishikawa released Zekkyō Gakkyū: Tensei in June 2015.
The Zekkyō Gakkyū series has inspired multiple adaptations, including:
- Two short anime specials aired in 2016.
- A "vomic" (voice + comic) video released in 2010.
- A three-episode series of anime shorts that aired in 2012.
- A live-action film that premiered in Japan in June 2013.
