About Chinpui
Originally serialized from 1985 to 1991 in Chuokoronsha's Fujiko Fujio Land, the Chinpui manga later inspired a television anime adaptation that aired 57 episodes between November 1989 and April 1991, along with an anime film titled Chinpui: Eri-sama Katsudō Daishashin released in 1990.
Fujiko F. Fujio was the pen name of Hiroshi Fujimoto, who co-created the Doraemon series with his lifelong friend Motoo Abiko (Fujiko Fujio A). Fujimoto was a long-time resident of Kawasaki, the city where the museum is located, until his passing in 1996.
The Fujiko F. Fujio Museum itself opened its doors on September 3, 2011, and has since celebrated the legacy of Fujimoto and his work.
