Exciting News from Anime Expo: 'The Last Blossom' Anime Film Set to Premiere in Japan
A recent panel at Anime Expo revealed exciting details about the upcoming original anime film The Last Blossom (also known as Housenka). Directed by Baku Kinoshita and written by Kadzuya Konomoto, the film is scheduled to open in Japan on October 10.

Highlights from the Panel
- Film Screening & Festival Presence: The Last Blossom was showcased in the Feature Film Competition at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival last month. It also had a preview as part of the Work in Progress lineup at last year's Annecy Festival.
- Voice Cast:
- Kaoru Kobayashi and Junki Tozuka voice the protagonist Akutsu at different stages of his life.
- Hikari Mitsushima and Yoshiko Miyazaki lend their voices to Nana Nagata, Akutsu's partner, at different points in her life.
- Pierre Taki voices the talking Housenka flower.

Kinoshita and Konomoto previously collaborated on the acclaimed ODDTAXI anime in 2021.
