Yoshimi Yasuda, the CEO of Dragami Games and former CEO of Kadokawa Games, shared insights about the collaboration. In July 2022, he announced on Twitter that Dragami Games had purchased the Lollipop Chainsaw IP from Kadokawa Games, especially after the game's status was uncertain. Warner Bros. is also supporting Dragami in this venture.
