About the Game
The remakes are part of the HD-2D series, which combines sprite-based art with 3D backgrounds, dynamic lighting, and effects—a style reminiscent of Square Enix's Octopath Traveler. The original Dragon Quest III: The Seeds of Salvation remake is set to launch on November 14 for the same platforms.

A Rich History of the Series
Square Enix has ported the first three Dragon Quest games to various platforms over the years, including Super Famicom, Game Boy Color, Wii, and smartphones. The series saw releases on Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation 4 in Japan in 2017, and worldwide on Switch in 2019.
