Nintendo has announced exciting news for fans of the iconic franchise! A live-action The Legend of Zelda film is officially in the works, with a scheduled premiere date of May 7, 2027. This marks a delay from the initially planned release on March 26, 2027.

- Zelda will be played by Bo Bragason.

Background and Future Plans
Talks about a Zelda film adaptation have been ongoing for years, including discussions with the Detective Pikachu writers. There were also early rumors of a live-action Zelda series for Netflix, but Nintendo denied these reports.
In 2019, Adi Shankar was reported to be in talks to produce a Zelda series, but he later clarified on Instagram that he was working on an animated Devil May Cry series, which premiered in April 2023.
This announcement follows the success of The Super Mario Bros. Movie (2023), which opened in the U.S. and over 60 markets worldwide.
