Exciting New Cast Announced for Kyō no Sanponta Live-Action Series

The March issue of Shogakukan's Monthly Shonen Sunday magazine has some thrilling news! The magazine announced on Wednesday that Keitatsu Koshiyama, Kotoka Seto, and Wan Marui will be joining the cast of the upcoming live-action adaptation of Riki Taoka's manga, Kyō no Sanponta (Today's Walk). The series is set to premiere for streaming in Japan on February 21.

Additionally, Fuji TV shared a teaser video for the series back in January, building anticipation among fans.

The series will debut on Fuji TV On Demand on February 21, followed by its premiere on Fuji TV's CS channel the next day.

Manga Background

Kyō no Sanponta follows the heartwarming adventures of Ponta, a dog, and his owner, Rieko. Riki Taoka first introduced the manga in Monthly Shonen Sunday in April 2020. The tenth compiled volume was published on February 12.

Taoka is also known for his previous work, Wagahai no Heya de Aru (This Is My Room), which ran from 2015 until its conclusion in February 2018, and inspired a live-action series in September 2017.
