The film is set to hit theaters on June 6. Nanoka Hara, known for her roles in Suzume and Oshi no Ko, will star as Miko Yotsuya. Additional cast members include:
- Rinka Kumada as Hana Yurikawa, Miko's close friend
- Naenano as Yuria Niguredō, Miko's classmate
- Coki-Yamashita as Akio Gondō, an original character created for the film
Behind the Scenes
Yoshihiro Nakamura, acclaimed for his works on Fish Story and Mumon: The Land of Stealth, will write and direct the film.
Yen Press is actively involved with the manga, which is published in English. The story follows Miko, who one day starts seeing creepy beings that no one else can see. Instead of confronting these monsters, she chooses to completely ignore them—an intriguing premise that raises the question: can she maintain her composure amid the horror?
Overview of the Manga
The manga debuted on Kadokawa's ComicWalker platform in November 2018, accumulating over 85 million views since its launch. Currently, the series has sold over three million copies in Japan, with the 10th compiled volume released on February 22. Yen Press is set to release the ninth volume on April 16, followed by the tenth in April 2025.
The popularity of Mieruko-chan also led to an anime adaptation in 2021, with Funimation streaming the English dub during its initial release.
Conclusion
This blend of horror and comedy promises to captivate fans as the film approaches its release date. Stay tuned for more updates as the premiere draws closer.
