New Cast Announced for Gannibal's Second Season
Ayumu Nakajima, Rila Fukushima, and Yuki Kura are among the latest cast members revealed for the upcoming second season of the live-action adaptation of Masaaki Ninomiya's Gannibal horror manga. The announcement was made on Disney+ Japan's official X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday.

Newly Announced Cast Members
The following actors round out the cast for the new season:
- Yuki Kura as young Masamune Kamiyama
- Rila Fukushima as Beni Gotō
- Atsushi Yanaka as a mysterious bandit
- Ryūshin Tei as Yoshimune Kamiyama
- Kōsuke Toyohara as Kinji Gotō
- Ayumu Nakajima as Osamu Gotō
- Ryō Iwase as Takeru Kawaguchi
- Dae-yeon Jin as Reo Gotō
- Akira Otaka as Mitsuru Yachiyo
- Isao Hashizume as Masamune Kamiyama

The second season of Gannibal is set to debut on March 19 on Disney+. Notably, the returning cast includes Yuuya Yagira as the protagonist Daigo Agawa, with Show Kasamatsu portraying Keisuke Gotō, the next head of the Gotō family, and Riho Yoshioka as Daigo's wife, Yuki Agawa.
New Character Introduction
Yuri Tsunematsu will take on the role of young Gin Gotō, a significant character within the series' narrative.
Shinzo Katayama returns as director, alongside Takamasa Ōe handling the scripts. Teruhisa Yamamoto is on board as the producer for season two, which will exclusively stream on Disney+ Japan.
The first season of Gannibal premiered on Disney+ in December 2022, attracting a significant audience. According to Variety, it has become the most-watched locally produced original series on Disney+ Japan, based on streaming hours.
Manga Legacy
The Gannibal manga, which follows a police officer's chilling experiences in a remote village, has been published by Ablaze, who recently launched a Kickstarter campaign for a limited-edition hardcover box set. This campaign successfully reached its goal shortly after launch.
The manga made its debut in October 2018 in Nihonbungeisha's Weekly Manga Goraku and concluded in November 2021, with its final volume released in February 2022.
