New Cast for Shin Samurai-den YAIBA Anime Revealed
The official website for Shin Samurai-den YAIBA, the upcoming anime adaptation of the classic manga by Detective Conan creator Gōshō Aoyama, recently announced exciting news about its cast.

Chiba’s Dual Role
Interestingly, Isshin Chiba also voices Kazunobu Chiba in the Detective Conan series, allowing him to step into both roles in a promotional crossover video. Watch it here:
Early Screening Details
Shin Samurai-den YAIBA will have early screenings of its first three episodes at 10 TOHO CINEMAS locations on March 13. This event will also feature a roundtable discussion with Aoyama, director Takahiro Hasui, and character designer Yoshimichi Kameda.
The series officially premieres on April 5, airing at 5:30 PM (JST) on YTV, NTV, and their affiliates, just before Detective Conan.
Storyline Overview
The anime follows Yaiba Kurogane, a young samurai inspired by historical swordsman Miyamoto Musashi, who is known for pioneering a unique two-sword fighting style and writing the military strategy classic The Book of Five Rings.

Manga Legacy
Aoyama's Yaiba first appeared in Weekly Shonen Sunday in September 1988, concluding in December 1993 with a total of 24 volumes. The original series was also adapted into a 52-episode anime broadcast from April 1993 to April 1994.
Crossovers with Detective Conan
The character Yaiba has appeared in various Detective Conan episodes and even starred in an OVA titled Detective Conan: Conan vs Kid vs YAIBA in 2000.
