Nintendo announced a new game in its popular Splatoon series titled Splatoon Raiders for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2. The company shared an announcement trailer dubbed a "Research Report from Squid Research Lab," offering fans a glimpse into the game.

What is Splatoon Raiders?

In this new title, players assume the role of a mechanic and venture to the mysterious Spirhalite Islands alongside the Deep Cut trio for an exciting adventure.

Major Splatoon 3 Update Incoming

The trailer also teased a significant update for Splatoon 3, scheduled for release on June 12. This update will bring several new features:

The Splatlands collection of weapons
A returning stage, Urchin Underpass (from the original Wii U Splatoon)
Raised Freshness caps
New in-game badges
A new Series Weapon Power stat

Additionally, graphics and performance improvements will be included for Splatoon 3 when played on the new Switch 2. Importantly, players on both the original Switch and Switch 2 will be able to play together seamlessly.

About Splatoon 3

Released in September 2022, Splatoon 3 is the latest installment in Nintendo's popular Splatoon shooter series. It quickly gained popularity, selling 3.45 million copies in Japan during its first three days.

Nintendo previously announced in September 2024 that Splatoon 3 would cease receiving regular updates, marking the end of an era for ongoing content support.
