New Cast and Trailer Unveiled for Hell Teacher: Jigoku Sensei Nube

Series Details

Directed by Yasuyuki Ōishi, known for his work on Stars Align, the new anime iteration will be produced by Studio KAI. The team is bolstered by Fumito Yamada as assistant director and Yoshiki Ōkusa as head writer. Music for the series will be composed by Evan Call, notable for his contributions to My Happy Marriage and Violet Evergarden.

The lead role of Meisuke Nueno, affectionately known as “Nube,” will be voiced by Ryōtarō Okiayu. The anime is set to premiere in July on TV Asahi, as part of their new programming block for anime, titled IM Animation W.

About the Story

The show centers around mysterious occurrences in the town of Domori. When a new homeroom teacher called “Nube” arrives, he hides a secret: he is Japan's only psychic teacher, rumored to have a demon-possessed left hand. As the story unfolds, he will confront the school's seven mysteries, ghosts, and evil spirits that threaten his students.

The original manga, serialized from 1993 to 1999, has sold over 29 million copies and was later reissued in 2006. In 2014, a one-shot and sequel manga were released, continuing the legacy of this beloved franchise.
