New Manga Series Announced for 2026 in Weekly Big Comic Spirits

Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits has revealed exciting news for manga fans. In its 30th issue, the magazine announced that renowned manga creator Yūgo Kobayashi will launch a new series in spring 2026.

This announcement comes shortly after Kobayashi concluded his popular soccer manga, Aoashi, in the same issue.

About Yūgo Kobayashi and Aoashi

• Kobayashi launched Aoashi in Weekly Big Comic Spirits in January 2015.
• The manga was created in collaboration with Naohiko Ueno for research and original story up to volume 17.
• Aoashi has published 40 volumes and has sold over 15 million copies.
• It won the Best General Manga award at the 65th Shogakukan Manga Awards.

Anime Adaptation and Success

• The Aoashi anime, produced by Production I.G, premiered on NHK Educational on April 9, 2022.
• The series was streamed by Crunchyroll as it aired.
