Exciting Updates from Konami: New Suikoden Projects Announced
During the recent "Gensō Suikoden Live 2025.3.4" livestream, Konami revealed a series of exciting projects related to the beloved Suikoden franchise. Here’s a breakdown of what fans can expect:
New Anime Adaptation
Konami announced that the story of Suikoden II will be adapted into an anime. The anime will be directed by Yūzō Satō at KONAMI animation, with Ryō Hino from NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan serving as producer and production manager.

New Mobile Game: Gensō Suikoden: Star Leap
A new mobile game titled Gensō Suikoden: Star Leap is set to launch on iOS and Android. The game’s story is centered around the Rune of Change, one of the 27 True Runes that shaped the world. It follows the village chief's son after a devastating attack on his village, as he teams up with friends to restore peace.
Key Features of the Game:
- Setting: The story occurs before the first game and after Suikoden V.
- Voice Acting: The main storyline will be fully voiced.
- Manga Adaptation: Aki Shimizu, known for the Suikoden III manga, will create a manga adaptation for the new game.
- Theme Song: The theme song "Campanella" is performed by Kaho Nakamura.
Stage Play Adaptation
A stage play based on Suikoden I is also in the works, directed by Norihito Nakayashiki. The cast includes:
- Naoki Okamura as Bocchan
- Takumi Wada as Gremio
- Ryōki Nagae as Ted
- Yamada James Takeshi as Flik
- Ryūko Isogai as Viktor
The stage play is scheduled to run in December 2025 in Tokyo and Kyoto.
