A Quick History of the Series
The first season of Is the Order a Rabbit? premiered in April 2014, followed by a second season in October 2015. In November 2017, a special episode titled Gochūmon wa Usagi Desu ka?? Dear My Sister made its debut across 40 theaters in Japan. The third season aired in October 2020.
Streaming and Licensing
- Both seasons were streamed by Crunchyroll as they aired in Japan.
- Sentai Filmworks released the seasons on home video in North America.
The Origins
The original manga, created by Koi, started serialization in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara Max magazine in 2011. The story follows Cocoa, a cheerful girl who arrives at Rabbit House café. Alongside her are other engaging characters:
- Chino - a cool, tiny girl named after cappuccino
- Rize - a tough, soldier-like character named after a tea
- Chiya - a whimsical girl inspired by Uji matcha tea
- Sharo - a dignified character named after Kilimanjaro coffee
