Exciting Updates on Kaiju No. 8 Anime and Manga!

The latest news about the popular series is here! From new film releases to upcoming seasons, fans have plenty to look forward to.

Film Releases in Japan and India

The first Kaiju No. 8 anime film, titled Kaiju No. 8: Mission Recon, opened in Japan on March 28. It was shown in 32 theaters for three weeks and featured a new original episode called Hoshina's Day Off.
The film made its way to Indian theaters on April 11, bringing the Kaiju No. 8 story to a wider audience.
Music fans will recognize the ending theme, Invincible, performed by the American band OneRepublic.

The film features many staff members from the first season.
Yūto Tsukuda, creator of Food Wars! Shokugeki no Soma, wrote the original story for the new episode.
Yūichirō Kido (Dr. Stone) handled the script.
The story follows Reno on his day off, who notices something strange about Hoshina and decides to follow him.

The second season of the Kaiju No. 8 anime is set to premiere on July 19 on TV Tokyo and other channels.
It will also stream worldwide in real-time on X (formerly Twitter).
A special side story episode, Hoshina's Day Off, aired on July 5 and was available for streaming globally.
Kōki Uchiyama joins the cast as Gen Harumi, along with new cast members like Hiroki Yasumoto and Kana Hanazawa.
The season's opening theme, You Can't Run From Yourself, is performed by AURORA, while OneRepublic returns with the ending theme, Beautiful Colors.

The first season aired in April 2024, with 12 episodes.
It was streamed in India by Crunchyroll and globally on X.
The series features talented staff, including directors Shigeyuki Miya and Tomomi Kamiya, and character designer Tetsuya Nishio.
The animation was produced by Production I.G, with Studio Khara handling monster designs.

The Kaiju No. 8 manga, titled Monster #8, is published digitally by Shueisha and Viz Media.
The story follows a man who becomes a monster to fulfill his childhood dreams.
Launched in July 2020 on Shonen Jump+, the manga will end in its next chapter on July 18.
