The Story Setting

My Melody opens a cake shop in Mariland. After discovering a mysterious heart in the forest, strange things begin to happen. Across the street, Kuromi runs a Japanese sweets shop that’s often empty. Curious about My Melody’s cakes, Kuromi searches for the secret behind her success. The two work together to prepare for a sweets-making contest judged by the famous pastry chef Pistachio. But, things take a surprising turn that could threaten Mariland’s future.

Background & Legacy
My Melody first appeared in 1975, and Kuromi joined the franchise in 2003. The series has seen multiple sequels and movies, including the 2012 film Onegai My Melody Yū & Ai. The recent short anime Kuromi's Pretty Journey debuted in 2023, streaming on YouTube and TikTok, with a new series titled 'Kuromi's Pretty Journey Hachamecha! Multiverse Dasshutsu!' released in October with an English dub.
