Titan Manga Announces Release of Paru Itagaki's SANDA in English

About the Manga
Paru Itagaki, famous for her hit series BEASTARS, launches SANDA in a near-future Japan where Christmas has become a myth, and children are the most precious commodity due to a drastically low birth rate. Society has extended adolescence artificially, and traditional holidays like Christmas are long gone.
Plot Overview
Volume 1 introduces Sanda Kazushige, a middle-schooler who finds himself caught in a mysterious and dangerous adventure. When his classmate, Fuyumura Shiori, accuses him of carrying a curse that might help find her missing friend, Ono Ichie, Sanda's world turns upside down. Together, they set out to uncover the truth behind Ichie's disappearance and the hidden magic of Christmas.
As they explore, they face external threats and internal struggles—questions of loyalty, courage, and belief. The story delves into themes of friendship, trust, and the possibility of magic in a world that has forgotten it.
Series Background
Itagaki launched SANDA in Weekly Shōnen Champion magazine in July 2021, and the series concluded in July 2024 with a total of 16 volumes. The final volume was shipped in Japan last October.
Adaptations and Future Plans
An anime adaptation of SANDA is scheduled to debut on October 3, animated by Science SARU. Fans can look forward to seeing this story come to life on screen.
About Paru Itagaki
Itagaki is also known for her acclaimed manga BEASTARS, which she launched in 2016 and concluded in 2020. The series was published in Weekly Shōnen Champion and has been licensed in English by Viz Media. The BEASTARS anime premiered on Netflix in 2019, with a second season following in 2021, and the final season is set to premiere in 2026.
