The highly anticipated Fate/Extra Record game, a remake of Marvelous Entertainment's Fate/Extra for PlayStation Portable, has been delayed until spring 2026. Originally scheduled for release this year on Switch, PS5, PS4, and Steam, the delay aims to improve the overall quality of the game.

Development Challenges: Game director Kazuya Niinō shared on his X (formerly Twitter) that this is his first fully-voiced game, including minor characters, and he underestimated the development schedule.
Pre-Orders: Despite the delay, pre-orders for the Ultra Special Edition and Special Edition are now open.

Background & History
The game was first announced in 2020, coinciding with the 10th anniversary of Fate/Extra.
The original Fate/Extra was released in Japan in 2010, with North American release in 2011.
The game is set in an alternate sci-fi universe within the Fate universe, often called the "Extraverse".
The remake is directed and planned by Kazuya Nino, who previously worked on the original game and on Etrian Odyssey.
Character designer Arco Wada returns for the project.
