Exciting News: Fermat no Ryōri Anime Cast Revealed

The official website for the upcoming television anime adaptation of Yūgo Kobayashi's manga, Fermat no Ryōri (also known as Cuisson dans le Fermat or Fermat's Cuisine), has announced its two main cast members. This exciting update was shared on Thursday.

About the Manga

Fermat no Ryōri follows the journey of Gaku Kitada, a gifted mathematics scholar, and Kai Asakura, a young and talented chef. After facing challenges in his pursuit of a mathematics career, Gaku encounters Kai, who is running his own food business. Together, they embark on a new adventure.

Kobayashi launched the manga in Kodansha's Monthly Shonen Magazine in September 2018. The fourth volume was published on September 28, and the series has achieved impressive circulation, with 23 million copies in print.

Live-Action Adaptation

The popularity of the manga has also led to a live-action series, which premiered in October 2023. This adaptation has further expanded the reach of Kobayashi's work.

Other Works by Yūgo Kobayashi

In addition to Fermat no Ryōri, Kobayashi is known for the manga Aoashi, which he launched in Shogakukan's Weekly Big Comic Spirits in January 2015. This series, based on an original concept by Naohiko Ueno, is set to conclude with its 40th volume. Notably, Aoashi won the Best General Manga award at the 65th Shogakukan Manga Awards.

The Aoashi manga inspired a television anime that premiered in April 2022, with Crunchyroll streaming the series as it aired.
