Exciting News: New Anime Adaptation of Hana-Kimi Revealed!
Fans of the beloved Hana-Kimi manga have something to cheer about! The official website for the anime adaptation has just released a teaser trailer, showcasing the main cast and revealing its television format. If you're eager to check it out, you can find the trailer streaming on Crunchyroll, complete with English subtitles.
This adaptation honors the late Hisaya Nakajo, who passed away in October 2023 at the age of 50 due to a heart condition. Nakajo's Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e (Hana-Kimi) is a celebrated piece of work that ran in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine from 1996 until 2004. Although she continued the story in various forms over the years—including a short continuation in 2011 and a special chapter in 2014—her latest contribution to the series was Himitsu - Hana Zakari no Kimi-tachi e After School, which was released in 2021.
Hana-Kimi has a rich history of adaptations, starting with a live-action television series in 2007, followed by a second series featuring AKB48's Atsuko Maeda in 2011. The manga's charm has also transcended borders, leading to live-action versions in South Korea and Taiwan.
As we look forward to this new anime, it's exciting to see how Nakajo's timeless storytelling will be brought to life on screen once again. Don’t miss the chance to experience the resurgence of Hana-Kimi!
