Exciting News for Fans of Dancing☆Star Precure
The official website for Dancing☆Star Precure, the first stage play from Toei Animation's celebrated Precure franchise, announced on Sunday that its third installment will premiere in Tokyo and Osaka this December. The announcement, which included a video reveal, also introduced new cast members Junichi Ito and Masataka Nakagauchi, although their roles remain undisclosed.
Returning Cast and Crew
The upcoming production promises to bring back beloved cast and crew, including:
- Shogo Tamura as Cure Top
- Ryō Takizawa as Cure Lock
- Tōya Morita as Cure Soul
- Raiga Terasaka as Cure Kagura
- Iori Kotsuji as Cure Break
- Shinichi Wago as Pas de Deux
Hosakayō returns to direct and write the script, with character designs by Toshie Kawamura, known for her work on Yes! Precure 5, Smile Precure!, and Hugtto! Precure. Takashi Washio, the producer behind the original Futari wa Pretty Cure series, will also oversee the stage play.
About the Stage Play
The original Dancing☆Star Precure stage play made history with its all-male cast and had successful runs in Tokyo and Osaka in October and November 2023. The recent sequel took place from February 15-23 at the Theater H in Tokyo and also had a presence at the Kyoto Theater, where the third stage play was announced after the final performance.
The storyline revolves around high school boys balancing their lives as dancers while on a mission as Precures.
Latest in the Precure Franchise
The Precure franchise recently made waves with its inclusion of characters like Tsubasa Yūnagi/Cure Wing, the first male Precure, and Ageha Hijiri/Cure Butterfly, the first adult Precure. Both characters debuted in Soaring Sky! Pretty Cure, which premiered in February 2023.
