Film Screens on IMAX for One-Night Only Ahead of February 28 Opening
GKIDS has officially announced an exciting opportunity for Gundam fans: the film Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- will have a one-night IMAX screening on February 26. Tickets are currently on sale for this special event.

On Tuesday, GKIDS began streaming an English-subtitled trailer for the movie, which is a re-edited version of upcoming episodes of the anime series, Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX.

Theatrical Release Info
GKIDS has acquired the theatrical distribution rights and is set to release the film in North American theaters on February 28. This marks the first partnership between GKIDS and Bandai Namco Filmworks.
The film premiered in Japan on January 17, debuting at #1 in the box office during its opening weekend. It sold approximately 352,500 tickets and generated 598,832,300 yen (around $3.83 million) in just three days.
Storyline Overview
The plot of Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX -Beginning- follows Amate Yuzuriha, a high school student living peacefully in a space colony. Her life turns upside down when she meets a war refugee named Nyaan, leading her into the world of illegal mobile suit dueling known as Clan Battle.
As she adopts the entry name Machu, Amate finds herself engaged in intense battles while piloting the GQuuuuuuX. However, things escalate when an unidentified Gundam mobile suit appears, pursued by both the space force and the police, along with its pilot, Shūji.
Behind the Scenes
The anime is directed by Kazuya Tsurumaki, known for FLCL and Gunbuster 2: Diebuster. The series scripts are supervised and written by Yōji Enokido, who has worked on Bungo Stray Dogs and Sailor Moon Super S, in collaboration with Hideaki Anno, famous for Evangelion.
Character design is handled by Take, and Ikuto Yamashita is responsible for mechanical design.
