The March issue of Ichijinsha's Monthly Comic Zero-Sum magazine has some thrilling news for manga fans! On January 28, it was announced that Hachi Yatsuhashi will be adapting Kei Nagano's novel, Kaii no Sōji-nin Sonezaki Shinji no Jiken File (translated as The Mysterious Cleaner: Shinji Sonezaki's Case File), into a manga. This adaptation is set to debut in the magazine's next issue on February 28.
Get ready for a chilling ride as this horror suspense manga kicks off with a spine-tingling occult incident. Expect madness and lurking monsters to emerge from the shadows, promising an intense reading experience.
The original novel, penned by Nagano, first appeared on the Shōsetsuka ni Narō website in 2019. It gained significant recognition, winning the 10th Internet Novel Award in 2022. Takarajimasha later published the novel in January 2023, further solidifying its popularity.
Hachi Yatsuhashi is no stranger to the manga scene. They previously launched the Kin-iro no Corda: Starlight Orchestra manga in Monthly Comic Zero-Sum back in September 2021. This series, which featured character designs by Shinobu Takayama, was based on the beloved Kin-iro no Corda: Starlight Orchestra smartphone game by Koei Tecmo Games and Aniplex. After a successful run, the four-volume series concluded its serialization in December 2023.
