New Season of Gannibal Set to Premiere on March 19
Hulu has just released an English-subtitled trailer for the highly anticipated second season of the live-action adaptation of Masaaki Ninomiya's horror manga, Gannibal. The new season will debut in the U.S. on March 19, coinciding with its premiere in Japan on Disney+. Viewers can look forward to the release of two episodes on the same day.

After leaving audiences on a bloodcurdling cliffhanger, Gannibal returns, plunging viewers back into the terrifying world of Kuge-Village. Will police officer Daigo be able to escape and stop the cannibals responsible?

Behind the Scenes
The series is directed by Shinzo Katayama, with scripts written by Takamasa Ōe. Teruhisa Yamamoto serves as the producer for the second season.
Previous Success
The first season of Gannibal premiered on Disney+ in December 2022, consisting of seven episodes. According to Variety, it became the most-watched locally produced original series on Disney+ Japan based on hours streamed. In the U.S., the series is available on Hulu.
Manga Release and Kickstarter Campaign
Ablaze is releasing the Gannibal manga in English, describing the story as follows:
In GANNIBAL, Daigo Agawa is a resident police officer recently assigned to the remote mountain village of Kuge. Initially welcomed by the villagers, he soon becomes suspicious after the mysterious death of an old woman, leading him to suspect that “The people in this village are eating people.”
In October 2023, Ablaze launched a Kickstarter campaign for a limited-edition hardcover version of the manga, which reached its goal within hours.
Masaaki Ninomiya debuted the manga in Weekly Manga Goraku in October 2018, concluding it in November 2021. The final volume was released in Japan in February 2022.
