Netflix to Premiere Live-Action Film Adaptation of 10 Dance

On Wednesday, Netflix announced the upcoming release of a live-action adaptation of Satoh Inoue's manga 10 Dance. This film is set to debut in December and fans are eager to see how the beloved story translates to the screen.

Cast and Crew

The film features:

• Ryōma Takeuchi as Shinya Suzuki
• Keita Machida as Shinya Sugiki

Takeuchi is known for roles in Kamen Rider Drive and The Deer King, while Machida has made a name for himself in Cherry Magic! Thirty Years of Virginity Can Make You a Wizard?! and Alice in Borderland.

The film is directed by Keishi Ōtomo, famed for the Rurouni Kenshin series, with the script co-written by Tomoko Yoshida. Music is composed by Masaru Yokoyama, whose previous works include A3! Season Spring & Summer and Horimiya.

About the Manga

10 Dance is published in English by Kodansha USA Publishing, and here’s a brief synopsis of the story:

Shinya Sugiki, the dashing lord of Standard Ballroom, and Shinya Suzuki, the passionate king of Latin Dance, both aspire to become champions of the 10-Dance Competition. To succeed, they must learn each other's dance styles, leading to a complicated partnership fueled by competition and a growing bond.

This manga was originally serialized on Takeshobo’s Reijin and Reijin Bravo! platforms from December 2011 to April 2015, before moving to Kodansha's Young Magazine the 3rd and later to YanMaga Web.

Latest Volume Release

The seventh compiled volume was published by Kodansha in Japan in January 2023, with English readers gaining access to it in September 2023.
