Manga Moves to New Platform as 'Manga Goraku Special' Concludes

Nihonbungeisha has announced that it is transitioning its popular manga magazine, Manga Goraku Special, to a fully digital platform. The final print issue was published on May 15, 2025, marking the end of an era for the magazine.

The last print edition of Manga Goraku Special includes the end of several serializations and the announcement of new ones moving to the web.

End of 'mitsusou'

Additionally, Shūichi Sakabe's mitsusou manga has also concluded in the final issue. The last volume is expected to be released mid-July.

Background and Transition

Manga Goraku Special was launched in May 2013 as a supplement to Weekly Manga Goraku, initially called Weekly Manga Goraku Zōkan. It was renamed Manga Goraku Special in March 2014. The magazine inherited numerous serializations from its predecessor upon its rebranding.

In August 2020, due to market changes, the magazine shifted to a digital-only format.

New Digital Platform

On March 28, Nihonbungeisha launched Goraku Web!, a free manga website that consolidates its digital manga operations. The previous serialization site was integrated into this new platform, making it easier for readers to access their favorite series.
