New Manga Launch: Tonari no Seki no Fukami-kun ga Idol ni Naru Kamo Shirenai
Aoyama, Chizu, and Haruno Aoyama are teaming up to bring a fresh story to manga fans. Announced in the August issue of Shueisha's Bessatsu Margaret, this new series is titled Tonari no Seki no Fukami-kun ga Idol ni Naru Kamo Shirenai (which translates to Fukami-kun, the Guy Sitting Next to Me, Might Become an Idol).
What’s the story about?
The manga follows a high school girl who is an otaku of audition programs. Her goal? To produce her classmate and help him become an idol. It’s a fun and charming premise that explores friendship, dreams, and the world of entertainment.

- Haruno Aoyama previously launched Boku wa Chiisana Shotenin (I’m an Inexperienced Bookstore Clerk), which ended in 2023 after six volumes.
- Haruka Chizu debuted with Snow Angel in Shogakukan’s Cheese! magazine in May 2023. This manga concluded with four volumes, the last shipped on December 25.
- Viz Media has licensed Snow Angel and released the first volume in English on May 13.
