New Pokémon Anime Announced: Kairyū to Yūbinya-san
The official Japanese X account for the Pokémon franchise revealed an exciting new anime titled Kairyū to Yūbinya-san (Dragonite and the Mailman), set to premiere on the official Pokémon YouTube channel on February 27, coinciding with Pokémon Day.
Production Team
- Kairyū to Yūbinya-san is produced by CoMix Wave Films, renowned for their work on Makoto Shinkai's films.
- Taku Kimura, known for Star Wars: Visions and Osana Najimi no Carbou, will serve as both director and storyboard artist.
- Kentarō Nana is responsible for writing and supervising the script.
- Character designs are by Asuka Dokai, notable for Snorunt's Summer Vacation, with animation designs handled by Maho Aoki from Astro Note, who will also act as the animation director.
- Tasuku Watanabe takes on the role of art director.

Plot Overview
The story revolves around Hana, a girl who looks up to a Dragonite that works as a postal worker. Her adventure begins when she receives an undelivered letter addressed to no one. Determined to find its sender, she—alongside her faithful companion, Fuecoco—ventures into the town.
Hana learns that the letter belongs to a boy named Rio, who intended to send it to his father working abroad in the Kanto region. However, with the father's birthday approaching, it seems the letter might not arrive in time.
