New Visual Novel Iwakura Aria Launches for Switch and PC

PQube announced on Tuesday that it will release Iwakura Aria, a new visual novel developed by MAGES., both physically and digitally for the Nintendo Switch and digitally for PC via Steam on August 14.

The publisher shared a trailer to mark the release date, giving gamers a glimpse of the game’s story and visuals.

Game Story Overview

PQube describes the story as follows:

After Japan's rapid economic growth following the war, society's cracks begin to show, and one girl finds herself left behind. With no clear future, she clings to a faint hope of a new life, working as a maid in the Iwakura household.

But secrets swirl around the family, especially concerning the heir, Aria. Soon, Ichiko finds herself pulled into another world within the mansion.

Amid hopes and expectations, both Aria and Ichiko struggle to stay true to themselves. Their roles seem imposed, and the question arises: who truly owns their lives?

To regain control, they must summon courage and resolve. Their fateful meeting could hold the key to unlocking their hidden strength.

This story unfolds over one summer in 1966, shaping the future of the Iwakura family—and their new maid.
